Un scientifique du Nebraska attrape le phénomène flamboyant

Lincoln (Nebraska) 21 octobre (Exclusif) — La foudre en boule, un des spectacles les plus étonnants put on by the elements, has been photographed by J. C. Jensen, physicist at Nebraska Wesleyan University here.

Taking advantage of a recent lightning storm accompanied by favorable conditions the cameraman caught one ball about 100 feet above the ground as it drifted to earth where it exploded with a detonation like a mammoth firecracker.

The balls, lavender in color, are formed when the electricity which makes up ordinary lightning flashes collects in dust particles in the air.
